In 2006 a man named Allen Heckard sued Michael Jordan and Nike founder Phil Knight for $832 million. His claim was that he suffered defamation, permanent injury, and emotional pain and suffering. (Here's the good part) All of this was because people often mistook him for the basketball star. Wow wouldn't it suck to be mistaken for the greatest basketball player to ever play the game?


In 2005, Austin Aitken sued NBC for $2.5 million. His claim was that after watching an episode of “Fear Factor”....it caused him “suffering, injury, and great pain.” (Again...here's the good part) It seems that watching the contestants eat rats and pig eyeballs on television, made him dizzy and light-headed which in turn caused him to vomit and then run into a doorway ....Really?...you're smart enough to come up with that story and seek out a lawyer, and too dumb to change the channel?
 
Here's one of my favorites....In 2000, Cleanthi Peters sued Universal Studios for $15,000. (get ready...here it comes) She claims that she suffered extreme fear, mental anguish, and emotional distress due to visiting Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights....What part of "Horror" didn't you understand?...It wasn't called "Halloween Happy Nights" you idiot. What did you go there expecting to see?


These are just a few of the gazillion frivolous lawsuits that are filed every year. Why is that? My answer would be that we have become society of entitlement and wanting "something for nothing". Try watching TV without seeing a commercial for some attorney...it cant be done. I want to puke when I see some guy on television look into the camera....almost in tears...and say..."I want to represent you, because I care". That is partially true...he cares about the money. Some even tell a sad story of a family member that was injured or killed, in an attempt to form a bond of commonality with the viewer. It's the whole "I feel your pain" ploy.

Some of these guys are shameless and their advertising is so blatantly patronizing that I wouldn't be surprised to hear something like this..."If you have been injured in an accident, upset by seeing someone who was injured in an accident...have been bitten by a dog, seen a dog or owned a dog...slipped and fallen, know what the word slipped means, know what the word fallen means...then call me, because I care about you...you're like family to me and I just want to help you".

Sound familiar?....It's the same story that many of our elected officials (I cringe when I have to say "elected officials"... are we really that dumb?)...in Washington D.C. are telling the masses every day....."We love you and want what is best for you". Bull doodie !!! (sorry for the extreme language). Wake up...they don't care about you. They care about controlling you. If everyone is on the government dole...then they in reality own us. It's only at that point, that they become necessary. If capitalism is destroyed, then we as a society will become a welfare state, and we will have no choice but to turn to the government for help. Like the trial attorneys, they say that they want to help you with every little detail of your life...they want to "fix" it for you. They use the same patronizing speech as the trial attorneys. "Bring me all of your problems and I'll take care of everything". But just like the trial attorneys....there is a price to be paid. Some of the most expensive things in life are those things that are advertised as free. (yeah that's an original quote...feel free to use it as long as you give me credit for saying it...after all it took me almost 9 seconds to come up with those brilliant words)  


Here's what it really comes down to.....take responsibility for your own life. Sometimes things just happen...and when they do, it doesn't always have to be someone else's fault. There are actually people who don't want to speak up for tort reform because in the back of their mind they are thinking..."well what if I went to "Halloween Horror Nights" and got scared?"...Their logic is that they themselves might need that option some day...so let's keep this nonsense around, just in case. (well...that and they don't know what tort reform is)

The same twisted "logic" is also used for NOT speaking up against the government trying to take over every aspect, of everyone's life..."let's get that 'free' health care, 'cause I might need it someday". Here's an idea...take responsibility for yourself. My dad always told me that there are two kinds of people in the world..."those who do things...and those who will stand by and let them". There are far too many people in our society that are content with standing by and letting others do for them. I have personally known people who have lost their job...filed for unemployment...couldn't find a job for the entire time that their unemployment was in effect...and then miraculously, right before their unemployment benefits ran out...they found a job. Praise Jesus !! That is nothing more than government-enabled laziness. After all...why work, if I don't have to...right?

Right now the business that I am in really sucks...but I don't want a government bailout....But let me say that when my business turns around...I don't want the government sticking their collective noses in my business, wanting more of what my family and I have sacrificed to have. It's time to take responsibility for our actions...it's time for the trial lawyers and frivolous lawsuits to be brought under control...it's time to get rid of those who are in office in Washington, and put some people in place, who will keep the government OUT of our businesses and personal lives, instead of more and more into it.

With that said....What do you call 535 Congresspeople at the bottom of the ocean?....if you said..."A good start", then you would be correct. Then Again....That's Just Me

Let’s Play A Game………

Today I want to play a new game that I just made up. It’s called “Jump To Conclusions”. The premise of the game is that you are presented with a series of facts….and then based on those facts, you “jump to a conclusion”…..So, here we go……

Number 1: You walk into a convenience store (no don’t jump to any conclusions yet…although Joe Biden did say in July 2006 that…“You cannot go to a 7-11 or Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.”) Ok…so you are in a convenience store….you see a guy with a ski mask covering his face….you also see that he has a gun in his hand and the person behind the counter has his hands in the air….and it looks as if the money from the cash register is scattered on the counter….Ok…1..2...3…Jump To Conclusions….

Number 2: You come home early from work….as you get to the back of the house….your wife/husband comes out of the bedroom with a man/woman…..both of them are naked….you look in the bedroom and see that the sheets are almost ripped off of the bed….both people look like they just got through running a half-marathon ….Ok…1…2…3…Jump To Conclusions….

Number 3: A man shoots and kills 13 people and injures 38 others at the Ft Hood Army Base ……his name is Nidal Malik Hasan ….leading up to the event, he has had a lot of  communication with Anwar al Awlaki, a radical cleric who is linked to three of the 9/11 hijackers and who has fled the country to reside in Yemen, where he still preaches jihad….. ….as Hasan begins shooting innocent people he yells "Allahu Akbar!"…("God is great!" in Arabic)….Ok...1…2…3…Jump To Conclusions….

Number 4: A guy gets on a plane…. his name was Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab….he pays for his ticket in cash….although he is going on a two week trip, he has no baggage to check….reports say that he was escorted to the airline ticket counter by a well dressed man acting as his agent, who told ticket agents that his client "didn't have a passport"…..he spends 20 minutes in the bathroom of the plane, then comes out and proceeds to try to blow up the plane….Ok…1…2…3…Jump To Conclusions….

After the massacre at Ft Hood, President Barak Obama  cautioned Americans against "jumping to conclusions" about what had triggered "one of the worst mass shootings ever to take place on an American military base."….That statement was the inspiration for my new game…So let’s see how you did….

Number 1: You probably thought it was a robbery….You are SO wrong. The guy in the ski mask had a skin condition and since he was very sensitive about it, he always wore a ski mask…the gun was a gift to the store owner (his brother-in-law)…the raised hands were simply an act of exclamation as the store owner exclaimed “oh my…I cant believe you bought me the gun I always wanted”…the money on the counter was money that the store owner was counting right before he threw his hands up on glee at the sight of his gift.

Number 2: You probably thought there was some hanky-panky going on….You are SO wrong again….it seems that the naked man/woman with your husband/wife was an innocent door to door salesperson….as he was presenting his product to your wife/husband, a home invasion took place….the home invader made them take off their clothes….he then used the sheets from the bed to tie them up before he fled from the scene….it was only by chewing through the sheets and an incredible struggle that they were able to free themselves.

Number 3: You probably thought this was the actions of an Islamic extremist terrorist…..Again, you are just plain wrong….he was just a troubled psychologist who suffered from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) which is often found in soldiers who have been deployed to war zones…(although he had never been deployed to anywhere) PLUS someone had "keyed" his car...and a bumper sticker that said "Allah Is Love", had been removed from his car as well...(that's enough right there, to make anyone kill 13 people...right?)

Number 4: Being the racist that you are, you probably again assumed that this was also an act of terrorism….And AGAIN you are wrong….He was an innocent young man that had a rare disorder that causes your genitals to get very cold at high altitudes…he was simply trying to warm them up by applying a very expensive explosive to his nether regions.

So how did you do at my new game?....If you are in the current Presidential Administration, you probably did very well….If you are a sensible American, then you probably failed miserably. The President and his administration just don’t seem to be able to draw sensible conclusions, based on simple facts....simple facts like the concept of these radical Islamic jihadists wanting to kill us. The Obama Administration seems to be among those people who seem to think that the only reason that these extremists ever attacked the U.S. was that they hated George W. Bush…(here’s a clue, George W. Bush is not the President any more)…Here’s the reality….They hate America...They hate Americans…They hate our culture…They despise our freedoms and they want to kill you and me (and of course, George W. Bush too)….Why aren’t we taking these things seriously and seeing them for what they really are? Immediately following the attempted plane bombing…(well actually 3 days later…and after a couple rounds of golf…and after a couple of nice dinners with friends and family) President Obama called the bomber aboard Flight 253 an "isolated extremist" (even though Al Qaeda had already claimed credit for the terrorist bombing attempt)....and then he stated that we “would not rest” until the people who  are responsible for this are dealt with…Really?....sounds like you’re right on top of that one Barak. I guess what you meant to say was “once we get started…after my vacation….THEN we will not rest” until we deal with those who are responsible for this….

Let’s stop dancing all around this issue because of political correctness. If there are enough facts there….then stop the person and at least look into the situation in more detail. Look at it this way....if 6’1” ruggedly handsome and somewhat studly white guys, with long curly hair were trying to blow up planes and kill people all over the world….I would expect to be stopped and questioned every time I tried to board an airplane…So given all of the facts...why cant we see what is going on here with these jihadists?….Here's a suggestion: President Obama…get off of vacation and actually do some work. Wake up and get your head out of your butt...because these terrorists are out to kill Americans, regardless of how much you might bow and apologize for the United States. I think its time that you get serious about this problem, before we have another 9/11…Look at the obvious signs. If the facts are there....then you aren't really "jumping to conclusions"...you're just being wise. (I know that's a foreign concept to many in politics) In my opinion…based on the facts that have been presented....anyone who cant see what is happening, is just stupid or has an agenda that doesn't allow them to admit what is happening…Then Again….That’s just Me

I Think I See A Pattern Here.......

Recently I think I'm starting to see a pattern emerge from a list of terrorism attacks on the U.S. and it’s citizens….I’m not 100% sure of this, so please bear with me as we look at the facts together……


On February 26, 1993…..A bombing took place at the World Trade Center killing six people and injured 1,042. The attack was planned by a group of conspirators including Ramzi Yousef, Mahmud Abouhalima, Mohammad Salameh, Nidal Ayyad, Abdul Rahman Yasin and Ahmad Ajaj. They received financing from Khaled Shaikh Mohammed, Yousef's uncle. In March 1994, four of the men were convicted of carrying out the bombing.


On June 25, 1996…..a truck bomb was used to blow up the Khobar Towers, a U.S. military housing complex in Saudi Arabia – killing 19 Americans and wounding 372. Charged in the attack were Ahmed Al-Mughassil, also known as Abu Omran; Ali Al-Houri; Hani Al-Sayegh; Ibrahim Al-Yacoub; Abdel Karim Al-Nasser; Mustafa Al-Qassab; Abdallah Al-Jarash; Hussein Al-Mughis; Sa'ed Al-Bahar, Saleh Ramadan, Ali Al-Marhoun, Mustafa Al-Mu'alem and Fadel Al-Alawe


On October 12, 2000.....A Navy destroyer, the USS Cole was attacked while it was harbored in the Yemeni port of Aden. Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri was charged with planning and conducting the attack on the USS Cole in which 17 American sailors were killed.…..(Thankfully on February 5, 2009, the United States dropped all charges against al-Nashiri "without prejudice" to comply with President Obama's order to shut down the military prison at Guantanamo Bay)


On September 11, 2001……four planes were hijacked. Two were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, one was flown into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and one was crashed into a field in rural Pennsylvania, after passengers overpowered the hijackers. The plot was designed by Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, (yup…..the same one from the earlier World Trade Center attack) with the approval of Osama Bin Laden and carried out by………..

On November 6th , 2009…..an attack at the US Army Base at Ft Hood, Texas killed 12 soldiers, 1 civilian and wounded 38 people. Witnesses say that Nidal Malik Hasan shouted "Allahu Akbar!"…("God is great!" in Arabic) before opening fire. President Barak Obama, (should I have put his name in bold font as well?….I’m just asking) in remarks the following morning, cautioned against "jumping to conclusions" about what had triggered "one of the worst mass shootings ever to take place on an American military base."


On December 25th, 2009…..Aboard Northwestern Airlines flight 253….two people were wounded in addition to Umar Farouk Abdulmuttalab, when Abdulmuttalab tried to detonate a bomb as the plane was preparing to land at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in Romulus, Michigan. Abdulmuttalab is a student at City University London, where he was President of the Islamic Society.


Do you see it yet?…..I’m still not sure, but I’m going to take a stab at it. To me it seems that the thread of commonality among all of these men is this …….(this is going to sound very biased, so hold on)....the more I look over these events...it becomes more and more obvious to me that all of these people who are involved in these acts of terrorism are Fundamental Evangelical Southern Baptist Jihadists. I feel good about that conclusion, so I’m going to stick with it….so beware any of you evil Southern Baptist Jihadists that cross my path in the coming days………


Are we that stupid…..seriously?.........I think it’s time that we take this seriously….the facts are there….Screw political correctness. I personally am not willing to give up my safety…for your political correctness….If you can’t see the pattern here….well….hmmm….ok here goes….I feel that if you cant see the pattern here, then you’re just stupid. Just A Bit Of Hope..................

In spite of how hopeless the world might seem at times...I know that Jesus was born to offer hope to everyone......We have hope, so let us celebrate !!!

Regardless of the "Political Party" that is in "power" in the government, I have hope because I know the One who is really in charge of my future...and the cool thing is that He loves you and He loves me...

Who would have thought that a tiny baby....born to a teenage girl...would have the power to offer hope to tens of millions of people for over 2000 years.....He was born....and though He died....He lives today....We Have Hope....

What I've Learned About Politics....By Being Home Sick.....

That genius that we all know and love...Al Gore (yes, the one who invented the internet that you are on right now...stop and give thanks)...has made the statement in his prophetic rantings on "Global Warming"...that the "earth has a fever". I know that I'm not very smart...and I'm sure that there is a perfectly plausible reason to the fact that we are experiencing record cold temperatures all around the world. The good news is that I think that I have come up with the reason.......

Al's actual quote (I call him Al, because we are best buds).... on "Good Morning America", regarding the whole "fever" thing was this..."The Earth has a fever and just like when your child has a fever, maybe that's a warning of something seriously wrong," See...there is something seriously wrong with the earth. And I think I have figured it out.....

I have not been feeling well for a couple days, and yesterday I actually stayed home to try to recoup. During the day I had a revelation as to why we are experiencing record breaking LOW temperatures around the world. If you have a "fever"...a lot of times you get "chills" that go along with the "fever". SO.....case closed. That's what's going on in the world. All of this snow and ice that is coming down in record amounts, are just the "chills" that go along with the earths "fever". (with me so far?) So it seems that Al was right. Maybe it is a warning that something is "seriously wrong" with the earth. But it doesn't stop there.....what follows is my biggest revelation to date on this subject.....

As we have already established....many times when you are sick and there is "something seriously wrong" (as I was yesterday...when I stayed home)....you have a "fever" and "chills". But there is another symptom that often befalls you as well....and I think what has been going on (for FAR too long) in Washington D.C. is proof of the third symptom of "Global Warming"...... "Explosive diarrhea"....yup that's it. Proof of "Global Warming" based on three symptoms. Thank you Al Gore for opening my eyes to the earth's "fever"...so that I could see the other two symptoms so clearly. The "fever" is being seen at the polar ice caps....the ice caps are melting and all of the cute, little polar bears are dying as a result of that "fever"....The "chills" are being seen around the world, as snow piles up in record amounts....and the "explosive diarrhea" is coming straight out of mouths of Congressional Democrats as they spill out lies and questionable tactics to get their "Health Care Reform" bill passed.

Oh but don't worry....it's just little things though.....you know $300 million in bribes here and there. (i.e. Landrieu, Dodd and Nelson)....What you say....bribes? Yeah what else would you call it when you were going to vote against a bill....and someone offers you a HUGE sum of money to change your vote. That is a bribe. But it's ok, because according to Jim Manley the spokesperson for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid...."This is just part of the normal legislative process" . Well alrighty then...bribery is just part of the process. And this administration was going to be different (remember the whole "Change" thing?). Bull Cookies !! It takes an awful lot of "Change" to pay $300 million dollars. Here's the way I figure it...we have 535 people in Congress...if we pay each of them $300 million dollars for their individual vote for heath care....it only comes to an additional $160.5 billion dollars to pay for health care.

If you don't buy into my newest theory on the three symptoms of "Global Warming" (although my research is as accurate as Al Gores)...then I feel that there is only one other explanation for the massive money hand-outs in Congress......they're all a bunch of whores. (no offense intended toward any whores who might be reading this and feel demeaned by the comparison) Then Again....That's Just Me

We’re All Gonna’ Die…………

A letter to Mom and Dad, from a young girl who is away at college........

Dear Mom and Dad,

There have been some recent events that have taken place in my life that I thought you guys should know about. First of all, I was involved in a car accident about 3 months ago. Don’t worry because I’m fine, and the good news is that even though my car was totaled, I met a wonderful guy through the accident. He was actually the driver of the car that hit me. His name is Eddie, but his friends call him Son of Satan. S.O.S. (as he likes me to call him) is so great. Unfortunately though, he was arrested at the scene of the accident because of a violation of his probation. The charge is totally bogus. He has a 10:00 curfew and it was only 10:15. Besides, he shouldn’t have even be on probation, since he has already served his 10 years at San Quentin, and the guy that he killed totally deserved it. Anyway, the main reason that I am writing is that I need some money for an upcoming doctor’s appointment. It seems that the OB/GYN that I am seeing only takes cash, and he insists that I pay for the delivery of our baby before the second trimester is up. (Did I mention that I was pregnant?) Since S.O.S. doesn’t have job, that means that he doesn’t have insurance either, so I need $5000 in the next two weeks for the doctor. I have decided to drop out of college and get a job at a little bar that S.O.S and his friends go to. Don’t worry though, because after the baby is born, one of the other bikers “old lady” said she would watch the baby when I was at work (isn’t that great?). I also need $2500 for bail for S.O.S. and another $3000 for a retainer for S.O.S.’s attorney. That’s only $10,500, and I don’t actually have to have it until next week. The good news is that you don’t have to pay for a wedding, since S.O.S. is technically already married and we have decided to just live together. I hope you guys are doing well. Oh yeah it would be best if you could sent the money in cash, since I got arrested last month for possession of a controlled substance (totally bogus charge as well) and since I didn’t show up to court, and now I have a outstanding warrant for that. Anyway I love and miss you guys

The tactic used by Debbie in this letter, is actually what the people in Washington D.C. seem to be doing to the people of the United States on an ongoing basis. The idea is that is if you overstate the severity of a situation, when you come back and ask for a whole lot less, it doesn’t seem as bad. In fact it might even sound great when compared with the initial scenario.

First there was TARP. We were told if Congress (both Republicans and Democrats) did not pass this bill, the entire economy of the United States would collapse. They said that it couldn’t even wait until the following week…NO…it had to be done in the next two days…and even then……it might be too late. But of course we’re only talking about $700 Billion dollars…what’s there to think about? Here’s the good news….Later we were told that it wouldn’t be $700 billion dollars…no that’s just silly…..it could actually be a couple hundred billion dollars less….maybe half of that, if some of those banks pay back the money we gave them. Whew….I feel better….because that means that there is a possibility that we only pissed away five or six billion of our tax dollars. See how that works?….$500 billion dollars is nothing….so now we all feel good…

Then there was the “stimulus” bill that was passed in the early part of 2009. We were told again, that if Congress didn’t pass this bill immediately…..that as with TARP, the entire economy of the U.S. would collapse...But this time, in addition, we were told that if we did not do this right now...that unemployment could go as high as 8%....Well we couldn’t have that...could we?....So without even allowing time for those who were voting on this bill to read it…it got passed. And within 7 months, unemployment went to 10.2%. Now THAT is money well spent. (I'm not a mathematician, but I think 10.2 is HIGHER than 8...but I could be wrong) But this was the way that it was explained to all of us “uninformed people”….If that money had not been spent, it would have gone even higher. There's one thing that's for sure...we'll never know. But even with that bunch of lies....it’s ok….because that money was going to be spent on providing new jobs and “stimulating the economy”….oh yeah and a couple other little things that got tossed in there….(this is only a partial list of things included in the bill, that HAD to be done right away) things like….

$50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts
$650 million for digital-TV coupons; $90 million to educate “vulnerable populations”
$150 million for the Smithsonian
$34 million to renovate the Department of Commerce headquarters
$500 million for improvement projects for National Institutes of Health facilities
$44 million for repairs to Department of Agriculture headquarters
$350 million for Agriculture Department computers
$88 million to help move the Public Health Service into a new building
$448 million for constructing a new Homeland Security Department headquarters
$600 million to convert the federal auto fleet to hybrids
$850 million for Amtrak (we all know what a good investment that is)
$87 million for a polar ice-breaking ship (I personally would have just waited until all the polar ice melts, like Al Gore said it would...and save that $87 million)
$150 million for “producers of livestock, honeybees, and farm-raised fish”
$400 million for global-warming research
$400 million for hybrid cars for state and local governments
$1 billion for the manufacturing of advanced batteries
$1.5 billion for green-technology loan guarantees
$2.4 billion for carbon-capture demonstration projects
$335 million for sexually transmitted disease prevention
$1 billion to follow up on the 2010 census, which, of course, hasn’t happened yet

and the list goes on and on.......And after reading that list….I know that I was stimulated….yeah, stimulated to go throw-up somewhere.

Then there is National Health Care Reform…..(Oh boy…here we go…) This is what President Obama said recently on ABC's “World News with Charles Gibson”……."If we don't pass it, here's the guarantee, Your premiums will go up, your employers are going to load up more costs on you. Potentially they're going to drop your coverage, because they just can't afford an increase of 25 percent, 30 percent in terms of the costs of providing health care to employees each and every year, and the federal government will go bankrupt, because Medicare and Medicaid are on a trajectory that are unsustainable. And this actually provides us the best chance of starting to bend the cost curve on the government expenditures in Medicare and Medicaid."…..

Wow, that is incredible….I’m not very smart, so let me see if I have this right….Our economy is, as Obama has told us repeatedly, "in the worst shape since the Great Depression"...but in spite of that, we can spend BILLIONS of dollars (that we don’t have) and that’s ok. We'll be just fine….But if we don’t spent a TRILLION more, we will go bankrupt?....Yup, that’s the way it works. Really?....I always thought that if you spent money that you didn’t have (money that you have to go out and borrow, with no way of paying it back) THEN you increased your chances of going bankrupt….but then of course, I didn’t go to Harvard. What Obama told Charlie Gibson was this…”The sky is falling”….”We’re all gonna’ die”….(unless of course we pass health care reform) The good news is that according to some of our people in Congress….It’s not going to cost over a trillion dollars….(don’t be silly…a trillion dollars?...that’s just crazy talk)…..NO, it’s ONLY going to cost $850 billion….What was I thinking?....While I will just put my foot down on spending a trillion dollars that I don’t have…the thought of ONLY spending $850 million, that I don’t have…makes me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy.

It’s kinda’ like when your wife (or husband) goes to a big sale….buys a bunch of stuff….comes home and shows you everything they have bought….and then announces…”I saved $300 dollars today”….(wow what a deal, right?) So those elected officials in Washington, who are much smarter than you and me, have done it again. They have written a letter home saying that they needed gazillions of dollars and that we’re going to go bankrupt….only to come back later and say….”Just kidding…we only need trillions…look how much we saved”….I know I feel better…maybe NOW I can enjoy my Christmas….Then Again….That’s Just Me

Maybe They Just Can't Help It.......

One bright sunny day, Mr. Turtle was happily swimming along the river, when Mr. Scorpion called out to him from the shore…."Hey Mr. Turtle!" Mr. Scorpion called out….."I can’t swim…so why don’t you let me climb on your back….and then you could carry me to the other side of the river?"….Mr. Turtle promptly replied…."No way, if I do that, you will sting me and I’ll die."….."Oh that’s nonsense!" replied Mr. Scorpion. "If I kill you in the middle of the river, you will sink, and then I would drown and die with you."….Mr. Turtle thought this over….and saw some truth in Mr. Scorpion's statement, so he let him get on his back and began swimming towards the other side of the river……Halfway across the river, Mr. Turtle felt a sharp pain in the back of his neck. "Why did you sting me?"….cried Mr. Turtle as his body began to stiffen…”Now you will die as well!"….. As they both sank into the river…..Mr. Scorpion simply replied…"Because it’s my nature”.

Some of you have possibly noticed that I haven’t been doing any writing recently. (for those of you who didn’t even notice….I can only ask, “why not?”....and say from my heart “thanks for caring so much”) The main reason for this is that I really have been torn as to what to write about. It’s not that there isn’t anything to write about….rather it’s that there is SO much, that I really didn’t know where to start. So I will start here…..

For anyone out there that is in favor of what this current administration is doing to our country, allow me to ask a question…”What are you thinking?” This is ridiculous. Congress (with the complete approval and urging of the President) is spending tax dollars like never before in the history of this country. Before anyone gets their panties in a wad here, thinking that this is just an opportunity for me to bash Obama and the Democrats (good name for a sixties rock band….Nah…they would probably suck at that too)…where was I?….Oh yeah…this is NOT an Obama/Democrat Party bashing session. In fact, I’m as pissed off at the Republicans, as I am at the Democrats.

Too many Americans are listening to the Harry Reid’s, Nancy Pelosi’s and Barack Obama’s (yeah I know they are all Democrats, but this is my blog) in Washington, and like the happy little turtle in our cute little story, many Americans are seeing some truth in their statements. After all…who doesn’t want free health care for their family? Who doesn’t want to save the planet? (Especially those cute little polar bears…keep in mind, I’m pretty sure that if they were all gone, there wouldn’t be any more Christmas-time Coca Cola commercials) Who doesn’t want to see everyone have a good job? Who doesn’t want their kids to go to college for free?.....and on and on. The problem is this...and I am going to say it as plainly as I can…WE….CANNOT….AFFORD….IT. While there is some truth in their statements (remember the scorpion)…the facts of how we are going to pay for these things are twisted. Ask yourself this…do you really think that we can spend trillions of dollars on government social programs….and at some point it won’t come back around and bite us in the butt, in the form of higher taxes? What about all of the “cuts in spending” that are being promised…. Hmmm ….sounds great…but it will never happen. Why do I say that?...mainly because it never happens. (I know you’re not supposed to say “never”….but I’m pretty sure that I’m safe on this one) Here’s an idea, if you really want to cut spending….then stop right now with these programs that we cannot afford…put them off to the side of your little desk....then move on to some of the other programs that are already in place and cut those until we have NO debt. Then and only then will you be allowed to spend money…and even then, it will never be more than the amount that comes in. (kinda’ like normal people have to do) This would all have to be done with a reasonable "Tax Code" in place...Any shortfalls in the deficit would come from your pay before the tax payers would be ask to pick up the slack. (that kinda' serves as an incentive to do your job right)

For the members of Congress..........I’m sick of the finger pointing and the fighting back and forth between Republicans and Democrats (unless it would be something like a “Caged Death Match” where on CSPAN they would have to fight to the death over the issues they believe in…now there is an idea for term limits…Hey Nancy, Harry and Barack, let’s do that and see how strongly you feel about your Socialist ideas then) I’m guessing that if it came down to fighting to the death….as opposed to simply spending someone else’s money, it would give pause to some people in Washington before they jumped on the “Spend Until We Go Broke” Train. You are destroying our country with debt. This is unsustainable, so stop it and start acting like adults.

President Obama….....at some point you are going to have to "man up" and stop blaming George Bush for all of your failures....So here's some things that I would like to point out to you...You said when you were trying to get elected, that we would be on a “pay as you go” system. Now that you are elected, what happened to that idea? Oh wait…I know the answer…you’re a liar. What happen to the campaign promises of “no pet projects” or “no pork” in the bills that you would sign? What happened to the campaign promise that you would go “line by line” and veto all of those things out of any bill before you would you sign it?…Oh…I know this one too…you’re a liar. It’s time for all of you in Washington to do what you are supposed to do….represent the people. Don’t treat those who elected you as if they were stupid (although if they elected you…there could be a certain amount of truth there).

For the people of America…..Please listen…..You have heard the call from those who are in Washington (that came in the form of voting for them)….Many of you have been listening to what they are saying…and some of it has started to sound like it might be ok to go along with (you did this by re-electing them)…..And far too many of you have decided to let them crawl up on your back (this is being done by supporting their actions)….because you think “well, they wont do anything to hurt me…because it would hurt them too”. Here’s the fact of the matter….If you don’t do something soon….they will bite you and destroy you….And yes, maybe even destroy themselves in the process….If that happens, it would be the end of the greatest country in the history of the world….Before we all drown in this debt and die as a nation, you should ask your Congressperson..."why would you do that?"......If any one of them were to answer honestly, they could only say….”Because it’s my nature”. While that would be true (for both them and the scorpion)....it's no excuse for what is happening and I think that it’s time for REAL change….Then Again….That’s Just Me

If you have ever gone to an Optometrist to have your eyes checked (of course where else would you go to "have your eyes checked"....Jiffy Lube?) ....Anyway, if you think back to the exam, and if you're like me (and I know I that I am).....the part where they put the machine up to your face and show you the eye chart, while changing the lenses always causes a great deal of anxiety. They show you one view....then they change the lens and say..."So which one is better...like this....or like this". Sometimes I'm just not sure, so they do it again and say again...."like this....or like this...or about the same?". I know sometimes I just pick one....to keep from looking stupid....which in and of itself is probably stupid....

So with that said.....I'm going to offer something similar (or simular, if you're from the Mid-West) to the "eye test" at the Optometrist's office....although with this "test" it should be much easier to pick out which one is better than the other.....So here we go.....

In case you are wondering what this is all about...let me explain......Recently three Navy SEALs were charged with assault on Ahmed Hashim Abed. So exactly who is this Ahmed Hashim Abed? First of all he was a wanted terrorist. More specifically, he was wanted by the United States for being the mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. (SEE ABOVE PICTURES FOR DETAILS) So what did these SEALs allegedly do to poor little innocent Ahmed? Did they shoot him?....Did they torture him?....Did they cut off the limbs of his body, one at at time?.....Oh wait....maybe they mutilated his body, burned it and then hung it from a bridge in Fallujah. (SEE ABOVE PICTURES FOR MORE DETAILS) No...theses are not the charges that are being brought against them.....They are being charged with giving poor sweet little Ahmed a fat lip. Yup....that's it...a fat lip. I am not trying to minimize the anguish that Mr Abed was subjected to... because we all know how painful a fat lip can be....I personally feel that a fat lip ranks right up there with a paper cut. His allegations were not unfounded however...evidence did show that Ahmed actually did have a bloody/fat lip. Forget that there were three (count them 3) Navy SEALs involved...and any ONE of them could have probably killed him with a paper clip, cut his body up with a sharpened rock and disposed of his body...and then simply said..."nope, I couldn't find him"....end of story.

NO...instead we have to accuse these men of some horrible crime...drag their names through the mud....and threaten their careers in the military. Are we that stupid? WE ARE AT WAR....In wars, people die.....and YES they also get "fat lips". I'm guessing that this evil piece of crap (sorry....alleged "evil piece of crap") didn't exactly surrender without putting up some resistance. After all, we can see what he is capable of doing. (SEE ABOVE PICTURES FOR DETAILS)...So I'm just guessing that he put up a fight...and hence, he got popped in the mouth and ended up with a fat lip. SO WHAT?....I think that the SEALs showed tremendous restraint in not killing him slowly over a period of 2 weeks and then feeding his body to wild animals....so to me, a fat lip was more than acceptable damage to poor little Ahmed.


Here's an idea....why don't we leave our guys alone and put Ahmed on trial...then when poor, sweet, little Ahmed is found guilty....we can carry out his sentence in the same way that he carried out the sentence of the four Blackwater USA security guards...beat him...burn him...and hang him from a bridge. (SEE ABOVE PICTURES FOR MORE DETAILS) If you disagree with me...(first of all, you're just wrong)...but go back to the top of the page and take the "test" again....Then I think you might SEE things in the proper perspective. Then Again....That's Just Me
